REINVENTING CLASSICS INTERNATIONALLY

I am an award-winning theatre writer-director based in London. My work focuses on reinventing classics to resonate with contemporary themes of gender, identity, and social justice, celebrating migrant and female voices. I aim to make these timeless works accessible and inclusive on a global scale.

My practice explores the power of spoken word in dialogue with performative languages such as physical theatre and live music. I collaborate with diverse artists across disciplines and styles, and I’m particularly drawn to working with verse, both in its original form and through adaptation or translation for international audiences. My productions are marked by a refined aesthetic, where soundscapes and lighting design play a vital role in evoking an emotional and sensory experience for the audience.

Through my artistic practice, I seek to build bridges between spaces and times, myths and people, crafting urgent stories that bring us together today.
