Songs from a Golden Age

AURIC

Songs from a Golden Age by Project AURIC reimagines classical tales from the Ibero-American Golden Age, bringing to light marginalised voices, particularly those of women and migrants. This innovative performance delves into themes of separation, identity, hope, and equality, deeply connecting with today’s socio-political reality.

Artist Paula Rodriguez infuses these classics with fresh vitality through a spoken word performance in both English and Spanish, offering a bilingual experience that bridges cultural gaps. The texts are set to music by composer Arthur Astier, providing a landscape of sound and emotion.

Rooted in the rich cultural heritage of the 17th century, Songs from a Golden Age is a mesmerising experience that invites audiences to connect with the profound messages within these tales from a global and inclusive perspective. The show celebrates the enduring relevance of classics and their ability to transcend time, bringing us together today.
